Celebrations

The second half of the year is always filled with celebrations in our family:
The Samster's Birthday, Raakhi, Mom's Birthday, Dushera, My Birthday, Diwali, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Amma's Birthday, Christmas, and all throughout that a sprinkling of more family birthdays. Its a pretty exciting time.
In two weeks its the Samster's 8th Birthday! Last year:

We surprised him with a DSi wrapped in a Barnes and Nobles Bag.

I love love LOVE giving surprises that make people smile. (:

So in October, my big oh-one-six is coming up! The Oh in the front makes it seems older, kind of. I have always wanted a big sweet sixteen bash for all my friends and family, but I really want to do something meaningful. :) I have something in mind, so that surprise is something I'm working on now, and invites should be in the mail by the end of August! It's pretty exciting!

This summer has been super duper busy! The school year ahead is looking even busier! Some things coming up are MSIOT, which is recruiting contestants! SING, which is recruiting Tech juniors and freshman that can sing/dance/act/build/paint/or love the theater! SCHOOL, which is kind of exciting and not, all at the same time!
SO for now, I'm enjoying the summer and all its craziness and looking ahead for a busy, busy fall! :)

Until then, something very true I stumbled upon:
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within. -Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Hello Bloggers (:

Today is July 20th. That means we are almost at the "summer is half over" mark. I think one of the best summer trips I had was to the Bahamas in 2008:

This makes me want to go back.

I love inspirational quotes. They are all over my desk, my laptop, my binders, my notebooks, etc. I don't know why, but they make me feel all warm, fuzzy, and empowered.
My motto in life is: Shoot for the moon because if you fall you just might catch a star.

I think thats what makes me an overachieving perfectionist. ;D

Well, I'm super excited to start this blogging business and chronicle my life on the internet. :)
